The Amex Platinum carries 11 statement credits worth $2,994 a year as of 2026, against an $895 annual fee. Most people realistically use $1,500 to $2,200 of that because several credits are tied to specific merchants. Below is each credit, how to trigger it, the cap, and how much value is actually reachable. Amex changes these over time, so confirm current terms at the issuer.
How the credits are structured
The credits reset on four different schedules: monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual. Missing a quarterly or semi-annual deadline forfeits that slice for good, so the calendar matters as much as the dollar amount. The figures below are current as of 2026.
Monthly credits
Advertisement
Digital entertainment, $25 a month ($300 a year). Covers Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, Peacock, Paramount+, YouTube and YouTube TV, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal. Enroll once in the Amex app, then it posts automatically when a qualifying charge hits the card. If you already pay for any of these, this is close to free money.
Uber Cash, $15 a month plus $20 in December ($200 a year). Added to your Uber account once you add the Platinum as a payment method. Works for rides and Uber Eats. It does not roll over, so one ride or delivery a month captures it.
Walmart+, about $155 a year. Reimburses a monthly Walmart+ membership charged to the card. Even if you only want the bundled streaming, the membership pays for itself here.
Quarterly credits
Resy dining, up to $100 a quarter ($400 a year). Pay with the Platinum at U.S. Resy restaurants; you do not have to book through the app. This is one of the easier premium credits to use in any mid-size or larger city. It does not roll over between quarters.
Lululemon, $75 a quarter ($300 a year). At U.S. Lululemon stores or lululemon.com, enrollment required. There is no gift-card workaround, so this is full value only if you shop there.
Semi-annual credits
Hotel, $300 twice a year ($600 a year). On prepaid Fine Hotels + Resorts or The Hotel Collection stays booked through Amex Travel, once in the January to June window and once in July to December. This is the single largest credit, and FHR stays also add breakfast, a property credit, and upgrades when available, so a single booking often clears more than its face value.
Annual credits
Airline fee, $200. Incidental fees such as checked bags, seat fees, and in-flight food on one airline you pick each January. Not airfare. Most gift-card tricks are closed, so plan to use it on real fees.
Equinox, $300. On an Equinox club membership or Equinox+ digital plan. Full value only if you already pay for it.
CLEAR Plus, up to $219. Covers a CLEAR Plus membership charged to the card each calendar year. Worth the full amount if your airport has CLEAR, and nothing if it does not.
Oura Ring, $200. On an Oura Ring bought at ouraring.com, enrollment required. A one-time win if you are buying or replacing a ring.
Uber One, $120. Reimburses an auto-renewing Uber One membership. This is separate from the monthly Uber Cash and stacks with it.
What most people actually use
The full $2,994 assumes you shop at Lululemon, join Equinox, buy an Oura Ring, and have CLEAR at your airport. A more typical result in a larger city is the hotel, Resy, digital entertainment, both Uber credits, and part of the airline fee, which lands around $1,500 to $2,200. Against the $895 fee, that is a real cushion before you count a single point. If you will not use the merchant-specific credits, read the worth-it math before you apply.

FAQ
Do the Amex Platinum credits really total almost $3,000?
As of 2026 the active statement credits add up to $2,994 a year. That is the maximum. Because several are tied to specific merchants like Lululemon, Equinox, and Oura, most cardholders realistically capture $1,500 to $2,200.
Do I have to enroll for the credits?
Several credits, including digital entertainment, Lululemon, Equinox, Oura, and Uber One, require a one-time enrollment in the Amex app before they post. Confirm the current enrollment steps at American Express.
Do unused credits roll over?
No. Monthly and quarterly credits expire at the end of each period, and the semi-annual hotel credit expires at the end of each half-year. Missing a window forfeits that amount.
Did the Saks credit go away?
Yes. The Saks credit ended June 30, 2026, and there is no second-half 2026 Saks window. Treat it as historical.
Where can I confirm the current credit terms?
Always confirm caps, eligible merchants, and enrollment at americanexpress.com, since Amex adjusts these credits over time.
